New Years!!!

Wow, I am exhausted. I have come down with an extremely harmful disease. My parents keep trying to convince me that it's "the common cold", but I know better. My immune system has been invaded by an alien virus that is slowly taking over my mind. You can't fool me, alien virus.

Tonight we rented The Giver. We were originally going to go to a party at a friend's house, but then I got sick and other things happened with them.
Our new plan is to play the Wii as a family, have Stevia root beer, and watch The Giver, as well as staying up until midnight (obviously). I'm sad that we couldn't go to our friends house, but I hope that everything ends up okay for them.
Also, tonight we're going to break out some ice cream and cookies that we found in our freezer, and I can't have any. Sad....but that's okay, I'll be fine with my root beer. Goodness knows I don't need ice cream and cookies anyway.

It's a really nice day! I didn't expect a winter day to be this nice, but I guess that sometimes we do have nice days. I haven't been in the woods for a while, so I might go tomorrow if it's still nice out.

I've been watching a lot of Studio C lately. I was a bit disappointed when I found out that they are a Mormon group. They are still absolutely hilarious.
They have the most genius ideas.

I can't believe it. It's only seven hours from 2015. It feels weird because I remember 2008 so well! I also don't want to be thirteen! I mean, pretty soon I'll be sixteen, then twenty, and then forty-five. Time always moves so fast.

The New Year is almost here. And I am pumped. I have written two novels in one year. That's awesome. I can't believe that I was able to do that. I remember my first story. It was pretty bad. I laughed when I read it again.
Anyways, I hope that I can finish my third novel and edit my first before 2015 is over.
Right now I'm writing chapter nine. It's going well.

"I See Fire." is hard, but fun. I honestly am a pretty simple person, I've been realizing that as of late. My hobbies include writing. reading, piano, learning Gaelic, and eating. Seriously! I mean, I'm okay with being simple, but I sometimes wonder if others are like that. Am I the only one? Anyway, that was random. Then again, most of this is.

We have three small pies left over from Christmas. Pecan pies. You know how I said one of my hobbies was eating? It's hard to resist the temptation of pecans and that-delicious-filling-but-I-don't-know-what-it-is.
Speaking of pie. You know how they say the Supernatural fandom has a gif for everything? Well, guess what? They have quite a few pie ones.
I feel ya Dean, I feel ya.
Castiel  gets me.
We're not. We have three Pecan pies.
That's not good. It could be Pie with poisonous berries. You should really pay attention to the label. Not just pie.

Wow, that post was really centered around pie.
I don't have a whole lot more to talk about so I shall leave you on that.

The Last Goodbye

Well, Christmas is over.
We got up at 8:00, went downstairs to have breakfast, and open the three gifts under the tree (they were from me); then, we went to see The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies.
It was so good!!! I've read the book like five times and loved it. I think that it's one of those books that really made me want to write. I first read it when I was about...nine years old. Anyway, I loved the movie, and I'm really sad that that was it. There's no more. It's sad for me at least because I know I was super excited to find that there were LOTR movies, let alone they were making The Hobbit trilogy!! But now it's over. Sad...
There's a song that I found called "The Last Goodbye." It's by Billy Boyd aka Pippen. Good ol' Pippen looks so old!

I've also decided that for my next song on the piano, I shall learn "I See Fire." I'm really excited.

Anyway, back to Christmas. After the movie we went home and got the dinner ready. I was supposed to be helping (whoops), but I kind of got side tracked and began to write. I'm on Chapter 7, and my main character is in Morocco right now. :) It's a lot of fun to write.

Okay, my grandparents and aunt came over at 4:30. We decorated cookies and made paper snowflakes until dinner was ready; then, we ate. It was definitely a memorable dinner. My sister and I had the giggles, and we couldn't stop laughing; then, I accidentally inhaled a piece of rice, so that made me laugh harder and choke. All in all, it was a lot of fun. It always is. :)

That night it was hard for me to fall asleep because I didn't want Christmas to be over. I feel like time is going by, and I don't have a lot to show for it. I want so much from my future that I get insecure about my present. I feel like if I'm not doing something to further my career as an adult then I'm wasting my time. Uhg, I need to lighten up. I need to let it go and enjoy the moment I'm in.
It's funny, the youngest is supposed to be the most layed-back supposedly, but I'm probably the non-layed-back of all the three kids. Anyways, that kind of derailed from Christmas. Oh well.

For Pete's Sake!

I think everyone knows that Mockingjay Part 1 came out not too long ago. We went to see it and loved it. Then an explosion happened. The Hanging Tree (a song from Mockingjay) was everywhere. It was kind of like the Let it Go explosion. Well, Taylor Davis did a cover of it, and it was epic. I applaud her for it.

Okay, I've had this really random though running through my head all day. You know the saying, For Pete's sake. Well, I have a very important question. Who is Pete?! And why has he become part of a cultural saying? I'm so confused. Who was the original Pete? Think about it.
Does this woman know a Pete? I doubt it.

There is also an actual For Pete's Sake day. Why?!!

On a differant, sadder note. Mr. Moseby has fallen. For those of you who have no idea who I'm talking about. I'm talking about Phil Lewis. He played Mr. Moseby on the popular TV show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody on the Disney channel. He was the greatest. I just found out that in 1993 he was convicted of murder. Apparently he was driving while drunk and hit a woman. That's sad.

On a happier note, it's Christmas Eve. Can you believe it? 2014 is almost over. I'm excited for tomorrow morning. And for tomorrow night. Christmas dinner, here I come.

Well, my novel is going great. It really picked up speed and now I'm on Chapter 7 (I made the chapters a lot longer than what they were before). I'm excited.

Piano and the Reason for the Season

Well, the play was a lot of fun, and a lot different than what I expected. They had waiters! The waiters would come up to your table and ask you if you wanted hot cocoa, coffee, tea, or juice. Then they would ask if you wanted German Chocolate Cake, Apple Strudel, Ice Cream with Fudge, or Red Velvet Cake. It was kinda fancy. :) The Red Velvet Cake was good. Bethany and I split it.

I'm listening to PianoGuys Lord of the Rings-The Hobbit.
I have listened to it at least four times. It is wonderful. Also, I might have mentioned it before, but Story of my Life. Not the 1D version, but the PianoGuys. It is amazing. I have become obsessed with them.
I have officially finished learning Planet Earth Forever. It was pretty fun to learn, and sort of easy. I like it. My next song to learn is...I'm still deciding.

We also just got back from driving around to see the lights. There was this one light show in particular that was really cool. It was an entire church all lit up, with the lights flashing to the beat of the songs. It was pretty fun to watch, but I think my mom got a headache from all the flashing lights. They also served apple cider, hot cocoa, cookies, and candy canes. Overall, it was a fun family tradition that I am more than happy to carry on.

Gear up, people. Christmas is only 3 days away. Are all your gifts wrapped? Is that wishlist written and checked twice? Are all the lights up?

You know, I think that in all of the Christmas hustle and bustle we forget sometimes what we're really celebrating. I think it's a lot of fun to have all the lights, wishlists, and other festive stuff, I just find people, myself included, getting lost in the commercialism and media. I hope that when I sit down with my family for a Christmas dinner, we remember the REAL reason for the season.
Anywho, there was my random-ish though for the, the post. I have a ton of random thoughts during the day. :)

Christmas Plays and Gingerbread Houses

Oops, I just realized I haven't posted in four days. Whoops.

Last night we had some friends over for some hangout time. The parents left to go for coffee and have some deep conversations, leaving us kids to ourselves. It was a blast.
We watched a movie, talked, danced to music, and overall had a lot of fun. I hope that we can do it again soon.
They brought their ice cream maker, and we were able to make coconut ice cream. After the half an hour it took to churn the coconut milk into ice cream, we added chocolate. It was a delicious treat, and because of the coconut milk instead of regular milk, it wasn't that bad for us. Yay!

My writing is going okay, not as fast as I would have hoped, but okay. :)
It's weird. I was so excited to write this book, but as I started writing it, the excitement kind of died away, and it became just another novel that I was writing. Anyway, so far I'm happy with it.

I've been listening to Pentatonix more often, as well as the Elder Scrolls: Oblivion soundtrack. I really like it. I haven't checked out the Skyrm one yet, but I'm planning on it soon.

Tonight we're going to A Christmas Carol play. I think Dad and Ben will be staying home though. They will be missed.
I love acting, I really do. I just don't get a lot of chances to act. I did drama club for a year, but then we pulled out of the co-op that offered it, and I wasn't able to find a substitute. I miss it.

I realized that I do a lot of writing. I write my novel, journal, random writing journal, blog, and my private blog, and I try to do four out of five of them daily. Yeesh, but I love it. :)

We finished our gingerbread house. It turned from one big house, into three tiny ones. We also added a lake (which looks amazing), two trees (which also look amazing), and little gingerbread men. My roof doesn't look as good as Mother's or Bethany's, but then again, I never really had the eye - nor the touch - for detail like they do.
We have little Swedish Fish sticking up from our lake that look really cute. I'm happy with it, and it was a lot of fun. We just finished adding a little pretzel stick fence around it all.

Well, I have to change out of my sweatpants to go to that play. Uhg. I better skedaddle (who uses that word anymore?).

I Lied

Yesterday we made gingerbread cookies, and today we're going to frost them. It's weird, for the past two years we have been really celebrating Christmas, but before that, we never really did. I mean, yes, we had presents and Christmas. Anyway, it's been fun.

I'm working on the third chapter of my third book. Ach! I'm so excited. I've been waiting to write this book for...since I started the first one.

Oh wow. Mom is making mega-nachos for lunch. Corn chips with olives, parsley, tomato, and all sorts of other toppings. It should be really good.

I am super excited. I just got a huge haul of library books. Most of them I haven't read before, but the ones that I have are like old friends to me. There's one that I have always loved. It has so many memories attached to it. It's called "The Hermit Thrush Sings"
I haven't read it in a couple years, but I almost remember it word for word. I hope to actually buy it soon. Here's hopin'.

Christmas is coming closer and closer. And with Christmas comes the New Year. I don't want it to be 2015. Time has gone by so fast.
I really hope that 2015 is a good year for me. I hope that I can finish the book that I just started at least by July. And then finish editing the book by Oct.

I went in the woods recently. I missed it. I missed the peace, the colors, and the quiet that leaves so much room for thoughts and musings like no other place. I have spent most of my life in those woods, so I'm glad I went out again. I should go out again soon.

Anywho, I better get to bed. Well, okay, that's a lie. I'm not going to bed right now, I'm writing. My sister always says that whenever she said she wrong thing. This just happened a couple minutes ago, "Bethany, can you help me with this?"
"No, sorry. I have to go finish the dishes."  Then my mom came in and said that she had already finished the dishes. So then Bethany turned to me and smiled, "Never mind, I can help you with that. I lied," <<<That was random.

The Next Day of Parties...

Wow, today is Ben's 18th birthday. I cannot believe that he is so old! On the larger scale of things and time, he's not that old at all! But to think that I've known him for 13 years is pretty cool. He's such a great brother. Anyway, we're having a surprise party for him tonight. Some of his good friends are going to come over when he's gone with my sister to get some stuff. We're going to set up when he's gone. It should be a lot of fun.

Ben is eighteen. Ach! Where is the time going?
I'm about to leave to the library (yay!) so this will probably be short. Anyway, we had chili for lunch, and it was really good.

Piano is going well. I'm about half-way done. Last night there was somebody who could play piano...really well. I felt so juvenile and silly saying that I could play piano when he was so good!! Well, he was older than me, so I do have time.

Bethany, Mom, and I went on a walk today. The weather was very nice. It was cold, but sunny with clear skies. I'm very glad that I went on the walk. It was a lot of fun. Mom kind of lagged behind because she was trying to train our dog to heel, but we ended up having just as many laughs.

I started my third novel last night, but the weird thing was it felt a lot different than my first book.
I know that my writing style has changed, but I don't think that it changed this drastically. Maybe I'm just a little off right now, but I'm just not getting into my writing very well. I need to go over the plot and characters and hope to get back into the groove.

Tomorrow is a Christmas party with my speech and debate club. I hope it'll be fun. At least there will be food. Food is my friend. :)

Finished and Free Copies.

All the lights are up, the tree looks amazing, and we taped our paper snowflakes to the ceiling. It's all Christmas-y. Christmas music has been playing 24/7, and the mood of the house is so fun.

I'm editing Chapter 33 right now, and I have 4 more chapters left. I should be able to finish it all by this Sat.. That would be cool. I plan on making the chapters longer though.
My one hangup is the cover. I need a different one than the one I have right now because I changed the title of my book. I tried making a cover, but I wasn't very good at it. Wish me luck. :)

Last night was...intense. It was so windy that it was actually pretty scary. We have two huge pine trees right by our house that were looking like they were going to fall over. The wind kept me up until 12-ish. It was cool though. I mean, all the trees were bending from the force of the wind, the rain being pelted into the windows at a breakneck speed.

My brother checked out an Xbox game, and he has been playing it non-stop practically. I need the TV to be able to watch ma Flash show. I still haven't been able to catch it, but I have seen the latest Arrow episode. It was...shocking, I was definitely shocked, and now I can't wait until it comes back on. It's going to be agony having to wait, but if Sherlock has taught me one thing, it's how to wait. :)

Oh my gosh! Someone replied to my post on NaNoWriMo. I asked for a cover, and they gave me exactly what I wanted. Oh, it's so perfect!! I'm really excited. I am now on Chapter Finished right now. I finished editing! This is great.
I can now start writing my sequel to Secrets of the Mirror. I'm really excited.

Anyway, I'm going to redeem my free copy.

VeggieTales and References

Today is another rainy day. I'm not complaining, not in the least. I have a cup of peppermint tea, a bowl of raspberry preserve oatmeal, and a small piece of peppermint bark, and it's only 10:00!

Every morning since December 1st, my mother has had a small advent calendar. It's kind of like a chest of really tiny drawers with a date painted on each one. It goes all the way to 24. Each morning Mom wakes up and puts a special little something like candy or a little packet of hot cocoa. Today was a clue. It was "I am faithful to the rising of the sun." We were stumped, but then we found a small rooster in the living room corner. From there we found another clue that said, "This is where we house the KEYS." We were looking everywhere until we realized that it was the piano. We had been searching for actual keys that unlocked something, but in the end it was the piano. We looked behind one of the notebooks sitting on the piano and found a bag of peppermint bark. It was fun.

We finally finished decorating the tree, and may I just looks amazing!!! This is my first year ever decorating a tree, and it was so much fun! We also taped all of our paper snowflakes to the ceiling. It looks great.
I can't wait to finish putting the lights up around the house.

My writing is going well. I have just completed the first chapter of my third novel. I'm really happy about it. Tonight will be a very late night for me. :) I'll probably be muttering and typing away like some crazy person. It's gonna be good.
For some reason rain always puts me in the writing mood.

When I was younger, VeggieTales was my favorite show (well, that and the Wiggles.). Today I just found a small video that blew my mind. It showed a Doctor Who and Star Trek reference in one of the movies. It was pretty cool to see my childhood obsession meet with my older-childhood obsession.

Anyway, I must do my math. Uhg.

Chuck Roast

Well, I finished wrapping gifts. I hope everyone likes what they got. :)

Bethany and I spent practically all day together yesterday. It was a lot of fun. We watched Pitch Perfect. It was overall a funny movie, but a bit crass and raunchy in places. Anyway, we also got The Lion King from the library. She and I have watched it before, but barely remember it. We'll be watching it tonight hopefully.

I finally caught up on Arrow and The Flash. The mash-up was awesome, and hilarious. I hope that something like that happens again soon. I think the dynamics between Barry and Oliver are pretty...interesting to say the least. But in the end I do think they make a good team.

Lately, I've been preparing for the second book to my "Mirror" trilogy. I'm super excited to start writing it.
More good news. I'm on Chapter 20 of editing my 35 chapter novel (I need to make the chapters longer though.). I'm hoping to be done with it all by Christmas. :)

Dinner tonight is a Chuck Roast. Despite it's name, it is not the roasting of some poor guy named Chuck. No, it is a delicious...beef...thingie. It should be great. It's cooking right now, and it smells amazing!! I can't wait for dinner.

Yes! Mom just got back from the library. I got a book I've been waiting for, for a long time. I'm excited. I think it's interesting that reading always motivates me to write more. I guess it's becasue one day I want to be a published author. At least, that's my goal.

Anyway, I think the oven beeped. I should go help with dinner.

J.K.'s Broken Record.

As you may have noticed, I changed the background of my blog. I thought I would try to get even deeper into the snowy, holiday spirit. And I need some snow in my life now that the REAL stuff has melted. :(

NOOOO!!!! Someone just broke JK Rowling's record of 450 million books sold. Zoella has sold...more, I guess. That's good for Zoella, but bad for us nerds. A teen drama/romance has beaten  good ol' wizards and magic. That's too bad. But great for the writer of that book Girl Online. I haven't read it, so I won't judge it harshly or anything, but I still think it's a little sad that teenagers are more interested in romance and that stuff that imagination and fantasy. But  that's just me. :)

On a better note, I am editing Chapter 17 of my NaNoWriMo novel. I'm over halfway done!! :)
Hopefully, I'll be able to get my copies by Christmas.

I'm a little sad that time is going by so fast. But at the same time I'm excited for Christmas.

My mom made ants-on-a-log. You know, the celery filled with peanut butter and raisins? I haven't had it in ages, and it's so good! She's also making baked potatoes topped with steamed broccoli and bacon! Mmm, it's awesome.

My math is going okay, but it's not my cup of tea. I have 350 topics left to learn out of 602, just in case anyone was wondering. :) Ach, it's taking forever.

Planet Earth Forever on the piano is going well. I was a bit stuck at one point, but I got it all cleared up. I hope to have mastered it completely by Christmas.
Lately, I've also kinda been wanting to learn the violin, but that might just be a whim that will pass in a couple weeks.

I'm really happy with the way that my life is going right now. :) I'm just overall in a happy mood.
Anywho. That's it for today, folks.

A Christmas Tree and a Mockingjay

Wow! For the first time...well, for the first time ever, we got a Christmas tree!! We never got one before because...of some reason that I can't remember, but this year we did. I still can hardly believe it. Now it's sitting in our living room, waiting to be decorated. You know, sadly enough, I have never once in my life decorated a proper Christmas tree. Sure, I've decorated that dying potted plant that we used to hang ornaments on and it would fall over, and I've decorated the sad plastic twig thingie that we got for free, but not a Christmas tree. I'm so excited!

There's a song from Mockingjay that I think is pretty awesome. When I read the book, I thought the lyrics were eerie, but intriguing. Now, when I heard it put to music, it's still eerie, but strangely hopeful. It's called "The Hanging Tree". Check it out on Youtube or something.

My editing is going really well! I'm up to Chapter 13, and still plowing ahead. Though I need to work on the cover. I love the one that I currently have, but I don't want it to be permanently plastered on the front of my free copy of my book.

Wow! I just hit 6000 views! That's a lot. :)

There's still snow on the ground. It must be freezing outside. I decided to go on another walk while the snow lasts. My toes will probably freeze off.

Anyway, I have to do my math. Bluh. It's funny, I get really frustrated with my math, and I dislike it, right? Well, I start to feel incompetent, then I remember that I'm two grades ahead. Oops. :)

December 1st!!!!

When I look out of my window, all I see is slushy white snow, remnants of yesterdays events. For some reason, it decided to snow in November (which is rare for the Northwest). I woke up to feel that my pillow was unnaturally cold. My dog had pushed his way under my covers and was shivering slightly. That was odd. I blinked and looked outside (for some weird reason, I do that every morning). Everything was white. I rubbed my eyes, sure that in my sleep heavy state I was imagining things, but no, there was truly snow on the ground! I almost shouted, but suppressed my noise quick enough, so it only came out as a strangled squeak. My sister is a very light sleeper, and upon hearing my squeak she woke up. She asked what was up, her back to the window. I told her, and she shot right up, "Are you serious?" We both got up and spent the rest of the morning dressing hurriedly and scarfing down breakfast. Then we pulled on boots, coats, and gloves, and ran outside. It was a lot of fun. We ran around in the woods behind our house for a while then headed back inside to make something hot to drink.
I really hope that more snow comes.
                                                                The next day.
I have run through all of my books, and I am now in a desperate state. I need more reading material. Hopefully I can go to the library soon. Oh! Never-mind, I just remembered that I have a small stack of historical books that were written and published in 1951. They're really a great format to read. Right now I'm reading about the real story of Pocahontas and Captain John Smith. I already knew most of it, but the books are giving me a bit more detail. It's cool.

I can't believe that it's December 1st. There's still snow from two days ago!  I wish it would rain, because it's cold enough that if it did rain, it would become snow.

Well, that's it for today folks. Until next time....
