NaNoWriMo and Halloween

I can't believe it. NaNoWriMo is tonight/tomorrow!!! AHHH!!! I'm so excited it's not even funny.
This is going to be an interesting time in my life. :) Also, since most of my time will be spent writing my novel, I don't know how much blogging I'll get done. I'll try to keep it updated though.

In about...two hours some family friends are going to be coming over. We have this family tradition for Halloween that we have root beer floats and play spoons. It started in 2010, so it's not that old of a tradition, but it's still fun.
This year, when we called the friends to ask them what they were doing for Halloween, they said "Nothing." So, we invited them over to join in our tradition. It should be great.

I think I will be needing a lot of green tea tonight. I'm planning on staying up 'til midnight to start writing for NaNoWriMo. I hope it all goes well.

Anyway, I better help get ready for the people to come over.

7 Journals

Ok, as NaNoWriMo approaches, I have become more dedicated to writing my current novel. And guess what?? GUESS WHAT???!!!
I finished it.
That's right. As soon as I wrote the last words, I did this weird pterodactyl screech and started doing my victory dance (I do have one). Oh man, I, so excited! I've been working on this novel for about two years. It came from a character on Once Upon a Time., the character came to Story-brook and I started mulling over his past and his personality. And then I had this weird thinking process that ended with a novel! I am really pumped to start editing after November.

For as long as I can remember, I have been enamored by cool notebooks and journals. I would buy them, but then they would sit around unused. Well, for Christmas last year, I got a really nice, black leather journal, and I wanted to write in it! But I had never been able to keep a journal before, so why would I start then? I walked into my room and saw the desk covered with random notebooks and unused pages collecting dust, and I decided - I would start a journal.

It has been almost an entire year, and so far I have used 6 journals, full from cover to cover. It has now become a relaxing habit, to sit down at the end of the day and write my thoughts and my day in the small pages. Of course I'm always hesitant that someone will read it, but if worse comes to worse I can always burn it later on in life. :) I am in the middle of that 7th journal, the nice, black leather one from Christmas last year. I am about 1/5th of the way through.

One morning I got the idea to go for a run with Bethany. I asked her and she agreed to go. Normally I am an inside person, but I was feeling exceptionally adventuress. So we went for a jog/walk. It was hard, my lungs and...well, my body, isn't used to jogging for a long period of time. It felt like my lungs were on fire. That was on Mon.; we went again this morning, and it felt a little better than the first time. We ran practically the entire time. We ran a mile and a quarter. I hope we keep doing this.

NaNoWriMo is only three days away. We can start hyperventilating. I am really excited!!
I think I will be having a lot of reeeeally late nights.
Anyway, I have some other stuff to do.

Sherlock Shirt!!

OHMYGOSH!!! I've only listened to a couple of the Arrow Soundtrack songs, but I am already obsessed! Each song is so individual, but they meld together perfectly. I now know what I will be listening to for the next couple hours.

I watched Captain America:The Winter Solder two days ago. It was epic! I'm glad I was finally able to see it.

OH OH OH OH OH OH!!!!! Yesterday I got a shirt in the mail. It read,
I am so excited that I got it! I think I'm going to wear it every day for the rest of my life. Actually I'm not, that would be unsanitary. My point is, I'm really excited.

My writing is going really well. I'm getting closer and closer to finishing my novel. That's an awesome feeling.

Um, I don't have a whole lot to say. My life isn't too exciting.
Anywho, I'll bore you no longer.

Chai Tea and Pumpkin Cookies

Well, today has been a wonderful, peaceful day. Last night the boys (Dad and Ben) left for hunting, leaving us girls home alone to have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

A Halloween party is this weekend and my costume isn't all that great. It's like, really simple and no-one is going to get what it actually is, but that's okay.

I'm getting closer and closer to finishing my novel. I'm planning on finishing it before November starts. :) Part of that is because of NaNoWriMo is in November. Man, I am so excited to right those words...The End. :) Well, actually, I won't be writing those exact words because I am going to write a sequel to it. I'm really excited for the sequel.

We went to the library and got a whole bunch of books. But weirdly enough, I haven't been reading as much lately. Writing has been taking a lot of my time, and I'm ok with that. I hope to someday publish my novel, and if I'm going to do that then I have to write it. A writer writes. And it doesn't even have to be good writing right now, I just have to get it all down on, computer screen.
The polishing and good writing comes during the editing process.

Bethany made these really yummy pumpkin cinnamon cookies with coconut sprinkled on the top. Mmm, they're baking right now and smell amazing! Plus, they're completely paleo. No sugar, flour or dairy. It's awesome.

I also made some Chai Spice tea in honor of the fall day we're having. It's kinda bitter, but nothing that a bit of raspberry honey can't take care of.
Anyway, those cookies are calling my name. They just got out of the oven.

Day 2 of Birthday

Sunday was day two of Birthday Surprises.
We went to a Tree House Hotel in Preston, WA to tour the tree-houses. It was cool to see how many different designs there would be. After touring those and spending a little time by the river they had we piled back into the car and drove to Seattle for the Farmers Market that was there until five. We looked at the different booths, found some adorable vintage suitcases and typewriters, looked at the price and backed away in horror. Walked through until we found the food booths. There was all sorts of delicious aromas wafting from the food trucks and food stands. Ben and Dad decided on fresh Fish and Chips, Mom, Bethany, and I decided on some Chinese food. It is after all, my favorite food.

After we ate, we meandered down a street and found a door that read Theo Chocolate Factory.
It looked interesting and I thought, "Huh, that would be cool." Then mother opened the door and stepped inside. I followed, now knowing that we were going to take one of the tours. Immediately I was hit with the scent of dark chocolate (my favorite), we were seated to wait until it was 5:00 and the tour started. Then we were herded into another room where we were told the exact process of how to make chocolate. And we got to try a lot! of samples. By the end of the tour, I was stuffed. Full to the brim with chocolate. Oh! And they had a little Han Solo frozen in carbanite (not sure how you spell it, but you know what I mean). They also had a chocolate TARDIS.
At the end of the tour we got free chocolate bars. It was an awesome trip.

We drove up to the Seattle troll to take a birthday pic. And after horsing around on teh giant troll, Bethany noticed some stairs leading up to the highway. She and I darted up there, my dad following closely behind. In the end we all ended up walking along the highway and over the bridge. It was sunset when we did this, the wind slightly tugging at my hair.  The rosy color of the setting sun illuminating Mt. Rainier perfectly. A perfect end to a perfect day.

I also got some library books today, so that's cool. Yep.

It's Ma Birthday!!!

Yeah. That was my little freak out. I am 13!! I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday I was 10 or even 7 for that matter. Uhg, I don't want to get older. :(
But at least I can have fun times for my birthday with my family. Yay!

Anywho, I better go. Presents to open and cake to eat (I actually have no cake, I just said that because of the whole birthday theme).

My Wonderful Day

Okay, yesterday we had some friends over to play games and hang out. It was fun and I really hope that we can get together again soon.

Also, can you believe that tomorrow is my birthday? I'm going to be thirteen!!! Today we did some fun activities to celebrate. Of course, it was a total surprise and I had no idea where I was going until we pulled into the driveway for "The Washington Fencing Academy". I've wanted to learn how to fence for a while. It's not that complicated, but it is different than regular sword-fighting. I'm not trying to brag, I'm seriously not. But the instructors said it looked like I had been fencing for a while!! That was exciting for me. The footwork was fun to practice.

After the fencing we went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch. I tried a whole bunch of new dishes and soups. It was a cool experience.

Oh! And also saw How to Train Your Dragon 2. I'm not going to say too much about it, but I will say this. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Everyone was saying it was super sad, it wasn't as sad as I was expecting, but it was pretty sad.

Uhh, there will be more to come.

I'm doing an interp for Speech. For those of you who do not know what that is, it is a interpretation of a book, movie, or poem. You take the plot and you condense it so you can get an idea across. You act it out, and you have to be multiple characters. You can have humorous interps, dramatic interps, serous interps and so on and so forth. I am going to be acting out The Cay. It deals with racism, and looking at what's on the inside. It's one of my favorite books actually. I hope I do well. It is a bit nerve racking to think that I will be acting it out in front of a minimum of three people I do not know (judges), and other people can be in the room if they wish.
It's pretty intimidating doing it for the first time, but it is fun. :)

Well, I'm going to cut short this post.
Bethany and Dad are going somehwere and I want to go too.

New Favorite Music

I found a really great new composer that has become my favorite. Jo Blankenburg. He has composed for quite a few major movies. Including Harry Potter. That's pretty cool
Anyway, I am learning Planet Earth Forever on the piano. It's a really...light and pretty piece. So after I heard it, I decided to go ahead and tackle it. So far I'm doing pretty well and feeling confidant about it.
I can't believe that NaNoWriMo is only 16 or 17 days away. Oh my goodness, I am so excited!! I'm determined to stay up 'till midnight on the 30th...or 31st. I don't remember which one it is. But I'll make myself a nice cup of ginger tea and get cracken when the clock strikes midnight.
Like I said, I'm pretty excited.

Today I went to lunch with my Grandpa. We went to the Roadhouse for a lunch of Chowder and a Prime Rib sandwich. It was so much fun. Grandpa is a big part of my life, and I love spending time with him.

Well, once again I am going to have a short post.

Last Night Was...Fun? Fun.

Yes!!! Season Two of Arrow is on Netflix!!
Ben and I just watched the first episode of Season Two, and may I just say...AHHHH!!! It left us hanging. Gah, I must have more!

All the TV shows are returning as fall sets in.
When I was younger, I used to think that every season was a year. It felt that long, but nowadays it just feels like time is disappearing.

Last night some family friends came over (actually my godparents and god-sister). Mum and dad went out with Aunt Cindy and Uncle Clay (we just call them that, they're not actually our aunt and uncle), leaving Sue (my god-sister) home with us. It was such a blast! We played charades, baked an apple crisp, and played hide-an'-go-seek in the dark. Then we all went out on the deck to talk and look at the stars, but when we tried to get back in, we found that the door had shut and was locked. We tried all the other doors and windows, but they were all locked as well. We could not get in our house! After finding that the garage was unlocked and that we could get in there, all of us hung out in the driveway and garage, playing basketball, talking, and painting (well, Bethany was painting). We found a couple cans of pineapple and opened it with a chisel. It was fun. We also found some frozen brownies and ate those. Finally, our parents came home and let us in the house. Overall it was a great night.

Anywho, I have a novel to plan (NaNoWriMo),

Pumpkin Pie Bars...Magnifique

Oh YASSSS!!!! Bethany has made paleo pumpkin pie bars.
Mmm, she always makes the best treats. Right now they're cooling, so I can't have any yet, but they smell delicious!

I can't believe it. I finished The Blood of Olympus yesterday, and I am in denial. That was the last book in the series. Oh man, that's horrible. It should go on and on forever, but I know it can't.

Yesterday Mum and I went to the pool. I haven't been there in a while, so I was surprised when I saw how much they had changed things. It was like a mini-Great Wolf Lodge, with the large bucket that splashed water everywhere, two water slides, and a whirlpool. It's a lot of fun. It also had a lazy river that you could float or swim on. We spent two hours there swimming and playing around. Then we went to Jamba Juice and split a smoothie. It was a lot of fun.

I can't believe that it's almost the 19th. I don't want to be 13. It's hard to accept change, like my brother moving out in the near future, and him going to college. It's absolutely unbelievable.

Anyway, I have places to go, people to see, things to read. :)

Highlight of my Year

Ahh, this morning has been absolutely glorious! I first woke up at 6:00 and went back to bed, then I woke up at 7:00. Deciding that that was as good as I was going to get, I arose. Groggily stumbling down the stairs and making myself a steaming cup of lemon honey green tea, I sat down, letting my eyes adjust to the morning light and taking occasional scalding sips of my tea. I finally decided to drag myself up to my computer and write. I got half a chapter written before my stomach was protesting every word I typed. I ate a breakfast of peaches, bacon, and a raspberry blueberry muffin. It was yummy!
That was my great morning.

But another thing that made it so great was the weather. Whenever I looked out of the window, I saw a wall of fog blocking the trees and other houses from sight. I've always taken a special liking to fog. It seems so...evanescent, like it's here one moment, there the next, and then it's drifted away. Just a misty memory. Like I said, glorious.

Today we went to the library, and I was able to pick up a lot more books.

Ok, I've been saving the best for last. You know how I've been talking about The Blood of Olympus coming out soon, and me being very excited? Well, today is the day. It came out today. That's pretty cool. I've been waiting over a year for this book.
Now, here's the REALLY awesome part. Normally I have to wait a while to read a book that just came out - library request backups and all - but Ben came home and pulled that glorious book from behind his back. He had bought it for me. He went out of his way on his bus rout to go to Barnes and Nobles to buy this amazing book for me. He called it an early birthday present. I was speechless for a while.
Anyway, that was my highlight of the day...erm, week...nope, month?...Year. There we go.

Bridesmaids and NaNo

Well then, yesterday I was a bridesmaid in a wedding. It was an...interesting wedding to say the least. Fun, yes. Unorthodox, yes. I had to wear an itchy skirt and a weird green blouse-ish thingy.
Um, the food was good. Yeah, that's the only bit that I really liked. I knew no-one there, and I felt a bit awkward just standing in the middle of all the hubbub. I don't know if anyone can tell, but I'm writing this in a British accent. Either that, or Irish. I'm bouncing around a bit.

Tomorrow I have to hand in my speech homework, and I haven't even done it yet. That's probably not good. I should go finish it.

I've been preparing like mad for November. It's weird how it seems so far away, but in all reality, it's just around the corner. Just like my birthday. It's only 14 days away. Dang, when did I become almost 13??? It seems like I just turned 10.
Also, I am hyperventilating. The Blood of Olympus is coming out in 2 days. TWO DAYS!!!!! Gah, I'm so excited/terrified. I hope everyone lives, but you know how all good books are. People die. :(

Yay! We're going to the library soon. I think the library is one of my favorite places. Lame, I know, but none the less.

Well, I better get ready to leave.

7 Novels

Well, I have been writing like crazy, trying to get as much done as possible on my current novel, before I start my NaNoWriMo novel. Wow, I have a lot of books on teh back-burner too. Let's see. In the order I'm going to write them.
1. My Brother's Keeper
2.War Games
3.The Stone Shadow
4.Catching Tears
5.Ravenswood: The School for the Criminally Insane, Illegally Gifted, and Outcasts.
6. Fer: A Lost Girls Tale
7. A Candle in the Window

That's all I can think of for now. Even so, that's a lot of novels to keep in my head. :) I'm excited to write them.
It's funny how attached I am in my writing. I can't even remember a time when I wasn't writing. The only thing I can think of is when I didn't know how to read or write, and even then I was taking my sisters books and pretending I could understand them, making up the story as I "read".
I just hope that my book is one day successful. Because I know for a fact I can get it published (self-publishing), but will it be read? Will people pick it up at the bookstore?
I hope so. The thought of someone reading something so personal, something that I have poured my heart, soul, tears, and time into, is amazing, yet terrifying.

That was kind of random.

I'm going to be finding a job...writing! There are a couple sites where people are looking for someone to write a paper for them, to help edit a book, to ghost-write a book, etc. I've been checking them out, and some seem promising! Hopefully it all works out.
Wow, the profile they have you set up is a very complicated process. Uhg.

Anywho, that's whazzup...
