Coffeehouse

Today was an early morning for me. I got up at 5:00 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I kind of just milled around until the others woke up at 8:30.

Anywho, I've been reading a series called The Landmark, it's all historical but the writer presented it in a way that made it interesting to read. I like it a lot because for me, it is pleasure reading, but I also am getting a lot of good history stuff in. Yay!

We went to Seattle today as a small treat, and we went to a coffeehouse for lunch, we played games, sipped on our mochas and scraped our ice cream. :) It was such a cute place to go. You didn't even really have to buy anything, the dude that ran it would just invite people in to sit and hang out. He provided books, games, and a TV, along with free coffee and water. I really want to go back.

When we were walking a long the sidewalk, I noticed a store called River Song. My first thought was, "Doctor Who!"
That was kind of funny to think, then realize, "I am such a Whovian."
So...that was my Doctor Who thought for the day. Or...more accurately, the hour. :)

Anywho, I should go, I have t o help with dinner and stuff. You know. Life stuff.

Bonfire and 12:00pm

Yesterday we had family friends over for the entire day. It was a lot of fun. They are missionaries to India and we haven't seen them for a while. They came over around 12:30 and left around 11:45.
It was a tiring, but really fun day.
We played games, had a bonfire, roasted marshmallows and laughed our heads off.
Bethany fell asleep on the couch after they left, and she stayed there until 5 in the morning.
I fell asleep pretty quickly, and I woke up at 8 got a drink, then went back to bed.
Then the next thing I know, I'm awake, it's raining, and it's 12:00. No joke. This is the first time I have ever slept in that late.
Wow. I must have been tired.

Anyway, I've been having some trouble with the piano piece that I'm learning. Uhg.

I should be writing right now. I really should be.
But I also want to write a blog post. Gah, first world problems.
.....I decided to go write.

Lesson 3

I can't believe that it's Monday. The time is flying by so fast! My goal is to finish my novel by 2015, so I am writing almost every chance I can get. It's felt awesome writing chapter after chapter. :)
I've also been reading a ton. I think I've read a book a day for the past week.
I've noticed I analyze my books a lot more than I used to. I also have been re-reading books from earlier this year. The writing seems much more simplistic than before, more...childish. The story-line is still awesome. But the writing isn't as great.

I just finished Lesson 3 of Scottish Gaelic. Yay!! It's a really fun language.
I also finished "Say Something" on piano, and I have started "Pirates of the Caribbean Medley" by Kyle Landry.
So far I really like it, but I am kinda stuck. I guess it's just practice, practice, practice, 'till I get it right.

Ooo, I just got the fifth book in the Harry Potter series!!

Well, it's getting to be time when I need to go to bed.
Sooo,

Fuzzy Sweaters

This morning we went to a Farmers Market that was by the waterside. There was a slight breeze to contrast the bright and very warm sun. Instead of having lunch we just bought a bag of kettle corn and sampled a lot of peaches and teas and all sorts of delicious things. The bright colors from quilts and fresh fruit and vegetables gave everything a very pleasant atmosphere. It was a wonderful mix of smells, colors, and chatter that gave my morning and afternoon a fun splash of spontaneity.

For dinner we had hamburgers, fried mushrooms, strawberries and hazelnuts. It was a great dinner.

We took a trip to Value Village a couple days ago and I found the greatest article of clothing ever. It's a giant sweater. It has a hood and pockets. It is size XXL so it's really big and cozy. Yay!!

This is going to be a short post, I am going to get back to reading.

ALS Ice Water Challange

Have you heard of the ALS Ice Water challenge? It's pretty much where you dump ice water on yourself to raise awareness for ALS. Well, my sister was nominated by some friends to do it, and she did. Three times.
See, the first time my brother didn't get the whole thing. The second time I didn't even press the button. And the third time my dad DID get it well enough that she could put it up to show that she answered the nomination. It was funny watching the reaction from my sister after she was doused in freezing water.

I re-watched the Avengers and I was watching it differently this time. Instead of watching it for entertainment i was watching it for balance.
Like the balance of the action, drama, and funny one-liners that made this movie so good to watch.
It was surprising how little I had noticed the practically perfect balance of this movie before. I'll have to start watching for that more.

I downloaded a couple new songs on my Ipod and I have officially listened to this one about...10 times. It's a great song. :)

I have been eating blueberries at every meal. I forgot how great they tasted.

I can't believe that Sherlock is coming back in 2016!!!! How am I supposed to wait for that???
Well, now that I have run out of things to say...
It's weird, I normally can't stop talking, but now I'm at a loss as what to say.
I guess I'll go be a nuisance...or write.

Randoms...

Well, today I went to Wildwaves...again, but this time it was with one of my sister's friends, so I felt like a third wheel. Sort of. My sis had made it clear to me that it was okay to jump in whenever, and I really appreciated that, but I still didn't know what to say to this new person Rebecca. Anywho, I felt really short today in the wave pool. Bethany and Rebecca were standing tall as giants above me, flipping their non-soaked, gorgeous hair. And I was below them, wave after wave cascading over my head, then sweeping away to reveal a spluttering creature with hair wetly plastered to her face. :)
No, it wasn't that bad. It was actually a lot of fun, and Rebecca was surprisingly easy to talk to.

We went on all the dry rides and discovered some ones that we hadn't found before.
After we did all the dry rides, we started heading back to the car, but we got distracted by the wave pool and waded up to our knees. It felt so good that we changed into our swimming suits and decided to go back to the wave pool. Ahhh, sweet, freezing shock of water. I love it.
The cure for anything is saltwater, whether it be tears, sweat, or the sea. And chlorinated water is a close second. So I dove in and swam around. It was really nice.
I hope I can go to the beach soon. I want real saltwater. Man, I miss swimming already.

Today we were going to go blueberry picking, but we found out that they are closed on Mondays. We're going to try again on Wed.

Right now I'm re-listening to the tribute to Dave Madden and his life. And I'm getting teary eyed. I feel silly because it's someone I never knew, but at the same time Adventures in Odyssey was...is a huge part of my life and Bernard Walton was just as much a part of all those nights listening to AIO.
                                                                    ******
When we were at Wildwaves, there was an Extreme Raptors show thingie. And guess what??!! Hedwig was there. They owned the owl that played Hedwig in Harry Potter. That was cool. I thought the poor owl would be dead by now, but I guess not.

I'm really sad about Robin Williams, I think he contributed something to all ages. Like my dad grew up with Mork and Mindy, I grew up with Aladdin, Jumanji, Mrs. Doubtfire, and all those great movies. Well, I'm not grown up yet, but you get my point.
I got hardly any sleep last night, I am yawning my head off right now. And starting to...fall...asleep...*snork*.
Um, yes, I'm still here.
Anyway, what were we talking about? Oh that's right, blueberries. Wait...that doesn't sound right. Whatever.
So we went blueberry picking today. I love blueberries. It was really nice being able to just eat and walk along in the sunshine while listening to an Adventure in Odyssey.
I should go make dinner. We're leaving somewhere pretty soon, and I have to have dinner ready.

Paperback and Weekends

Squee!! I just ordered Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Now I only have two books to go until I have a full set. And no, I didn't get all hardback. Paperback is the cheapest and I have A LOT of other books I want to buy.
So unfortunately, the hardbacks will have to wait, but I'm still excited. My bookshelf is completely full! Hmm, now I'll need more book space somewhere. I'll have to get another small shelf or something.
The only books I have left to buy are
Cyndere's Midnight
Bk 6 and 7 of HP
The entire series of Dreamhouse Kings
and the entire series of The Sisters Grimm.
So once I find myself another job (I gave up my weeding job), I can buy the rest.

My sister just made popcorn. What we like to do is add Parmesan cheese and garlic to it along with coconut oil and salt. It is delicious! I really like popcorn, but not the popcorn you buy at movie theaters, that stuff is WAY too salty and buttery and bluh. At least the movie theaters I've been to.

Mom and Dad just got back from their weekend anniversary trip. Ben was gone on a camping trip over the weekend as well. That means that Bethany and I had the house all to ourselves for three days and two nights. Can I just say that I had SO much fun!! We found out that we are a great team, we are so funny together, and I have a confession to make. I actually didn't write the entire weekend, and I've been trying to make a habit of writing everyday one way or another. But these past three days I've been having too much fun to stop.
We had loud music and crazy dancing, and just overall it was a blast!

Well, I'm going to go catch up on the rest of my family's weekend.

Needles=Not fun

Lath-a Math (that means Good Day)
I just completed Lesson 1! I'm excited. I'll be speaking fluent Gaelic in no time! :)

I just got back from the dentist, and guess what? I have a cavity. Uhg. That means that I get a nice large needle stuck in my gums...I don't like needles.
So that's kind of been freaking me out.

The funny thing is I never used to have a problem with needles, I mean, I was the always the calm kid at teh dentist. And I was totally fine when I would get my blood drawn.
But lately, I've been getting more and more wary of needles. The last time I was at the dentist my hands were shaking a bit because I got to have a needle in my gums.
And then at the doctor's, I was getting blood drawn for another allergy update, and I almost started hyperventilating.
I can only hope that I don't get too worked up when I go in for my cavity.

Well, on that happy note,
I have to help with dinner.

Thunder and Lightning

Wow, that was amazing!
I just went through the biggest thunder and lightning storm I've ever seen.
It started out as small flashes of light, and small rumblings, but then Ben and I went out on the deck to watch it more, and we started to notice it got louder, and bigger. Until it ramped up to the loudest sound I have ever heard. That is not an exaggeration. It was like a bomb went off, or a gun was fired right next to my ear.
And the light was so...bright, and white. I have never before seen the actual tendrils of lighting before. It was amazing, exhilarating, and it happened twice. One was right above our house, the other right above our backyard. After the first super bolt, it just started pouring. And you could smell the dirt and humidity in the air.
That was so cool.

I am on episode 17 of Arrow, and yes, I found out who Roy Harper is. :)
And...oh my gosh. There's a photo of...I KNEW IT!!!! I was right.

I found Gaelic on Mango Languages. Before I was looking under G for Gaelic, but it was under S for Scottish Gaelic. So I am starting to learn Gaelic!! It's a fun language.
Well, I'm going to get started.

30 Chapters

Well, it's been a fun couple of days.
On Friday we met some friends, we ended up heading over to Barnes and Nobles to browse and talk.
I had fun. We found some weird books, like, "The Devious Book for Cats." It was a parody to "The Daring Book for Girls." and "The Dangerous Book for Boys."
It was pretty funny.

On a more educational note, I decided I want to learn Gaelic. I mean, it's always been in the back of my mind, but on Friday it was brought more to my attention how much I want to learn it.
I'm trying to find it through Mango Languages, but so far I have been unsuccessful. Help?

Anyway, on Saturday my dad had a business picnic that the entire family had to go to.
The food was amazing and I am a bit ashamed to say that I stuffed myself. There was a fancy mac and cheese, two kinds of fruit salad, Caesar salad, slices of succulently seasoned beef, and a baked bean casserole. For dessert there were six different kinds of cookies, and an apple pie.
I had so much food.

Today I was able to write a full chapter, I'm excited that I have...wait for it...30 chapters!!
I'm pretty psyched about it all.

Anyway, I better go continue writing! :)

Kinda Jumbled

Our house is a construction zone right now.
We are redoing our windows, so we had to tear out the old ones, but it's super noisy.
And tomorrow, first thing in the morning, they're working on the windows in my room. So I get to wake up to loud noises.

Right now I'm watching Episode Nine of Arrow. Oh...I am seriously becoming addicted to this show!
Umm, I've been writing a lot today, and I have been moving quickly with learning Say Something.

I know a couple spoilers from before I started watching Arrow, and I am so excited for...a certain bird. That is associated with a certain color. Those comic geeks and overall awesome people out there who got that...rejoice with me!!!! I am excited.

My "Aunt" Suzie is coming over tomorrow, I haven't seen her in a long time, so I'm excited to see her.
Technically she's not my Aunt, we've just always called her that.

I have no idea what to say, my life has been kinda monotone lately. Un-eventful.
Well, it's been sunny these past couple days, a bit overcast though in the mornings. So I can actually wear jeans without dying from heatstroke. That's always a plus...when I don't die.
See, now I'm rambling about the weather, This is getting sad, like watching a fish flounder in the sand with no hope of ever getting back in the water.

Speaking of water, I really want to go swimming. I've found that I don't care about temperature anymore.
I also forgot that I could swim once, and thought I had to have a life-jacket. Then when I dove in without it, needless to say I was surprised that I was staying afloat.

Wow, this post is pretty random and kinda all jumbled up.

Anywho,

October Facts...

Well, I mastered Let it Go and I am now starting on Say Something by A Great Big World.
I think that it will go much faster than Let it Go. There's a lot more of the repeating chords.

October 7th is so close!! Gah, I can't wait. For those of you who do not know the significance of October 8th, it means...The Blood of Olympus!! When a certain book comes out, it is the fifth and final book in the amazing series. I don't know what I'm going to do without it. I just can't wait until Rick Riordan's Norse series comes out.
Also, a total Lunar Eclipse is happening on October 8th, as well as my birthday on the 19th. So October is pretty awesome.
Oh FYI, there is a meteor shower that is happening from August 10th to 13th. Just a little random fact. It is called the Perseids Meteor shower.

Well, another short post, but I would like to practice Say Something.
Sooo....see ya!

Gif Galore

Yesterday we went to Wildwaves!!!
It was a lot of fun, Bethany and I did a new ride called TimberAxe. It was kind of like the the Ring of Fire, but a lot smoother, and it didn't have a top so you could see the sky when you were upright, and the ground when you were upside-down. It was nice and not as scary as the Ring of Fire.
The water rides were fun...as always, and the lines moved pretty fast. And...I DIDN'T GET BURNED!!! It seem like almost every time I go someplace, I get burned. But this time I didn't. Go me.

For the last two days I have had Writers Block, but today I was like, "You know what Writers Block, I've had enough of you. Go away."

And it did!!!

So today I have been writing every chance I have to make up for those lost days.

I just figured out how to add Gifs to Blogger. It's easier than I thought it would be.
Ok, just for the fun of it, I'm going to add some of my favorite Gifs

Okay...that's all for today's post.
I had fun figuring out the Gif thing.
