I MISSED YOU + Random Thoughts While I Was Gone

As you may or may not have noticed: I took a break from blogging for all of summer and some of fall (and if you didn't notice, my feelings are very hurt), and lowkey went crazy.

I wanted to share in great detail everything that happened, but since that would probably make you fall asleep, I will not be doing that (then again, if you have narcolepsy, you might fall asleep anyway).

Instead, I'm going to share some of my thoughts while I was gone.
  • I know that I'm really busy and barely even have time to make tea (which is a travesty all by itself!!!), but I really just want to write all the blog posts and rearrange my blog and DO ALL THE BLOGGY THINGS. I don't know how I'm going to last two-ish months without blogging, even though I know it's what is best for me... BUT BEST IS OVERRATED. Instead, let's consider destructive tendencies. I honestly don't even know what I'm saying anymore. This is what a lack of blogging has done to me.
  • The 4th of July was last night. First of all: Fireworks are the single greatest thing on the face of the earth. Second: Fireworks are lovely to fall asleep to (I'm not even being sarcastic). It's very peaceful to be in that dreamy, under-the-covers comfortable state with soft pops crackling up every couple seconds, tiny flashes of color flashing through the windows. It was lovely.
  • So the Lala Land soundtrack is quite magnificent and I have listened to it more times that I care to admit (actually, you know what? NO SHAME. I HAVE LISTENED TO IT BASICALLY EVERY DAY ALL SUMMER. HECK YEAH LALA LAND. I love that movie).
  • I just got back from Costco where I saw two teenagers dressed in sweats and hoodies. WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEATWAVE. Are they invincible??
  • Winnie the Pooh is amazing (btw, I just finished The House At Pooh Corner for the millionth time). I am very curious which character y'all relate to the most? I myself feel spiritually connected to Piglet. We both have many things in common: smol, afraid (but trying very hard to be brave), needs a lot of hand holding, RIDICULOUSLY ADORABLE.

  • I won a Goodreads Giveaway! It's the Last Namsara.
  • I hadn't heard of it before now, but it looks good. And hey, free book! Can't say no to that. Though it says the book will come somewhere between next week and a month from now. A month?! Well I can't wait that long. I'll just have to get ahold of the Goodreads staff and tell them that I reeally want it now.
  • (two weeks later) The Last Namsara is here! The cover is very mysterious. I started the first chapter, and I am extremely intrigued. It seems promising so far. I'll keep y'all updated.
  • I went to a Science Center and found out that I'm actually very passionate about sharks and dinosaurs (turns out I share some interests with a 5 year old boy)
  • I MET LEIGH BARDUGO aka our writing goth queen! Don't mind me, just silently dying in the corner. I still haven't read Warbringer (which was what the event was for), but fear not, my pretty chickens, I DID get a library book signed. I have not hung up my Library Vigilante cape just yet.
  • I tried gas station tacos for the first time and OMG THEY WERE SO GOOD. I didn't get food poisoning, turn a funny color, or sprout a pair of wings (though I wouldn't mind sprouting wings...)
  • The first day of fall was a celebration! I am so happy that my second favorite season is here, ready to bring lots of sweaters, scarves, and falling leaves. It's such an amazing time of year (I apologize to all my southern hemisphere readers. Also, how are you surviving in such heat? You doin' okay?)
Okay, so that wasn't as many thoughts (or nearly as entertaining) as I thought it was. Whatever, it still feels good to be blogging again.

Did you fall asleep? Have you won a book before? What Winnie-the-Pooh character do you relate to the most? Are you as happy I'm back as I am? (please say yes, frens)

  1. I missed you too. Heh. So good to have you back :) I always look forward to your posts, Evangeline.

  2. Glad you're back!!!

I relate mostly to Rabbit. I'm a terrible worrywart and a perfectionist to boot.

    1. Thanks!
Rabbit is awesome! The group needs a lil planning to keep things straight. ;)

  3. YES La La Land is the best! I literally bawled like a baby at that movie. And then bought the vinyl soundtrack. And then cried some more. <3 Glad you're back in the blogging world! It can be good to take breaks, I've found this in my own blogging journey, but it definitely does feel like something is missing! Have a fantastic November, yo! :)

    1. Isn't it? I love the music so much and I want to live in a world that colorful!!! It's been really nice to casually blog instead of trying to stick to a schedule. :)

  4. Sharks can be pretty cool! I told my family once about the sharks that screw their [screw-shaped] eggs into gaps between rocks, and they didn't believe me?? I only pull their legs like 74% of the time. Had to get a picture and prove it ;P

How did The Last Namsara end up being? Is it good?
    - Jem Jones

    1. That is so interesting! Sharks are the coolest. It's a good thing you got proof. ;D

It was entertaining. A lil too much romance for my taste, but the dragons were SPOT ON. A+ dragon content.

  5. It's good to have you back again!
Your bloggy thoughts are always fun to read.

  6. Hello again! I've won books before, one or two. My favorite Pooh character is... Pooh. But I love Piglet and Eeyore and Tigger and Roo and Kanga and Christopher Robin too. (But not Rabbit. Rabbit needs to lighten up, dude.)

    1. Pooh is a darling. :) All of them are wonderful and endearing but yes, Rabbit needs to take a chill pill. Though his garden is quite impressive. :)

  7. Ugh. I have yet to win a Goodreads giveaway!

It's also pretty cool that you got to meet your favourite author (unfortunately, mine never live in the same country as me!)

    1. YOU WILL ONE DAY. Don't lose hope. It will come when you least expect it.

Right?! I was stoked that I got to meet her. :)

  8. How are you in the middle of a heatwave??? It's twenty degrees where I live! Anyways, I'm so glad that you're back-- I remember I just stumbled upon your blog weeks before you said that you were going to be hiatus for awhile, so it's good to see you back!

xoxo Abigail Lennah | ups & downs

    1. I know!!! It was super weird, but we had a heatwave in October.

Thanks! I'm so glad to have another fan. XD

ISN'T IT JUST THE BEST!! I am in love with every song on the soundtrack. It is stunning.

  9. Bonjour I am here to test if your comment section is working well. Fab blog, keep up the good work!

  10. EEEEEEP SO SO SO HAPPY YOU'RE BACK, EVANGELINE!! *tosses confetti and gives you waffles* your blog is literally one of my favorites <3 your personality is just so bright and positive and awesome!! YOU DESERVE AN AWARD.

Fall is SUCH a lovely season, isn't it??? I'm getting sad though because it's getting colder and colder where I live and OMG DECEMBER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER HOW DID THAT HAPPEN. *screams casually into a pillow*

Oh and by the way, it looks like your sidebar is having some issues? It could just be my computer, but some of the images on your sidebar are displaying too big + cutting into the blog post. Not sure if this is just me, or what...but I THOUGHT I WOULD LET YOU KNOW ANYHOW. ;)

    So glad you're back!!

    rock on,

    1. YOU'RE SO SWEET. I'm pretty sure you just made my day with that comment!!! :D

I adore fall, though, since Winter is my favorite season, I AM THRILLED THAT IT IS GETTING COLDER. *ahem* though I do understand that you do not like the cold and am very sympathetic, but also...SNOW SNOW SNOW. Time is going by so fast!

Thank you for letting me know! I will check into it. :) I hope my blog isn't just slowly unraveling bit by bit. XD

  11. Loving your blog and you writing! I'm following on GFC! :)
